Threads of HOPE NC Inc is a joint project of the Community Advisory Committee, the Migrant Benevolent Association, and the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, a Prevention Research Center funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (NO U48 DP000059).
Katie Barnes has been a part of the team since the beginning. She
lives in Benson, NC and is currently working at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and
Disease Prevention in Chapel Hill, NC. She serves as a member on our steering committee.
Salli Benedict has been working on various projects, including HOPE
Works, in eastern NC since 1993 and with Threads of HOPE NC Inc. since the beginning! She
works at the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves as a member on our steering committee.
Tabatha Brewer lives in Sampson County and has been with the project
for about four years. She is a Community Coordinator with the HOPE Works project and the
Health Outreach Coordinator for the Coharie Tribe. She serves as a member on our steering committee.
Marla Diaz works as a Community Coordinator for HOPE Works since April
2008. She is our beautiful bilingual (Spanish & English) Coordinator. She serves as a member
on our steering committee.
Barbara Harris is from Duplin County and has been with Threads since its
inception! She currently sits on the Board for Threads of HOPE NC and is a member of our
steering committee.
Vicki Martinez has been working with Threads of HOPE NC since its
beginning! She has worked with HOPE Works as a Circle Leader and as a Community Advisory
Committee member for 3 years. She volunteers as our marketing director and is a member on
our steering committee.
Wanda McLamb is the financial manager for the Migrant Benevolent Association.
She is a resident of Sampson County and has worked with Threads of HOPE NC Inc.
since our incorporation. She volunteers as our financial manager and is a member on our
steering committee.
Rachel Page has been working with Threads since September 2008.
She is the project assistant and serves as a member on our steering committee.
Pastor Patricia Peterson serves as the Executive Director of Threads
of Hope NC Inc. She has been with Threads of HOPE NC Inc. and the HOPE Works Project since
January 2005. She is a Community Coordinator for Duplin and Sampson Counties for these
projects. She volunteers as our executive director and is a member on our steering committee.
Imani Rivera has been with the Threads of Hope NC Inc. and the HOPE
Works Project since April 2005. She is a Community Coordinator for Duplin and Sampson Counties
for these projects. She serves as a member on our steering committee.
